Coming Up

In her new production, award-winning performance-maker Larisa Faber blends documentary theatre, live music, and an unlikely prop – cabbages – to uncover the complex layers of grief and historical memory. A semi-autobiographical puzzle with a real-life discovery after her grandmother’s burial becomes a gateway into examining unfinished business, attempting to right the wrongs of the past. Drawing on her Romanian heritage, Faber takes the audience on a multigenerational journey through Romania’s turbulent history. With an exceptional creative team, a touch of surrealism, and a stage full of soil, this theatrical experience turns private mourning into a universal exploration of loss, the weight of history, and the relentless pull of family ties.

Appearing as part of Summerhall Surgeries - 19th of August 2025
